Born in Trinidad Tim is a self-taught musician who started making music in bands in 1976 and soon joined a UK Latin/funk outfit called Gonzalez in 1979. 

He has since played sessions for Elton John, Bee Gees, Steve Winwood, Osibisa, Chris De Burgh, Donna Summer, Tom Jones, Al Green, Ray Charles, Chaka Khan, Millie Jackson, ABC, Heaven 17, Living In A Box, Swing Out Sister, Terence Trent Darby, Billy Preston and Mavis Staples. 

As well as contributing to albums by most of the above, he continues as a session player. 

His own projects include The Paddington Bear Calypso Band featured in both Paddington Bear movies 1 and 2; Knee Deep (a funk band created with Molly Duncan from The Average White Band) and a band from his own Trinidadian roots Buss Up Shutt featuring D Bag.
